ACUS report, the overview
I'll post quotes later, because I have them. I have to figure out if I *can* post quotes for slot 1 without spoilers!

ACUS was just lovely. It was weird not driving! I have been to, um, *12* Ambercons in Detroit and this was only the third one I didn't do the driving for. But it was also really really nice that [info]mngstar drove on the way back and I didn't hyperventilate during the storms. *smiles*

This was one of the most peaceful ACUSes that I've had. Some great games, and good times with friends. The only drama was in my head and stayed there. *grins*

Slot 1 -- Five Sides to Every Story

OMG, this game kicked ***. I had just the most fab time, and got to start out the con with mayhem and visuals that I'll just never forget. But I can't tell you about them because!! If you haven't played this game, go enjoy it next time [info]arrefmak runs it. You'll have a blast.

Slot 2 -- TOTR The Road to Fair Elphame

A [info]princejvstin regency game! I got to play Jinxy!! Yay!! I got to be utterly outrageous and played on Team "We Play by OUR Rules" and it was a blast. Mayhem seemed to be my theme this year, I think. I got to do some classic Jinx moves, of the variety that shouldn't be considered by sane people. We were asked to go find Carl, Julian's son, who'd gone missing and turned out to be in Fae and trapped in two pieces by the dark and light queens. I was on the team that went to the dark side, and when the part came where there was supposed to be nice structured challenges, we just bowled on through 'em. I think my favorite quote was when we'd gotten rid of all the opposition save one knight, and he looked at us and said simply "I concede." *giggles* Jinx hung off a racing chariot pulled by polar bears in order to go between the legs of a giant and hit UP (yeah, he didn't like that). And when the teleporter grabbed her from behind, Jinx grabbed her in turn and vaulted over the front of the chariot -- Jinx landed on the crossbar and swung the teleporter over her shoulder and down under the polar bears. Byebye teleporter; task complete. I was happy to let her get her daredevilness out of her system.

Slot 3 -- A Common Disaster

My only GMing slot this con. The game went well, and I got four separate plots worked out in four hours, so while I wish we could've done more, I'm glad we got as much done as we did! I almost had Roarke change his mind on his current mission. Random dumped Kenric on the Pattern (leaving out several useful details about walking it before he did so -- he did include the most important DON'T STOP one, tho). Taggart is DEAD (and much mayhem was had on the way there). And Brendon is either on his way to be rescued (we can rescue him unconsciously!) or killed -- I hope rescued. GMail was a saving grace with Google Chat and being able to bring [info]logrusboy to the game from hundreds of miles away. Had he been there, I think the game would've taken a very intense turn as that plotline continued and Martin & Gareth quizzed Brendon, but we'll be picking that up as we restart over email.

Slot 4 -- A Three Way Mirror of a One Way World

I have always enjoyed Rae's games. This one started out hard, because it was very slow getting us all together, and Rae wasn't feeling great (I was glad to hear on Sunday that she was doing MUCH better). But in the end it was a silly romp, and I did have a good time. I played Jenny on the day where just NOTHING went right. Weirdest moment was the dream of the giant spider who instead of spinning silk crapped out replicas of the Jewel of Judgement instead (real replicas, complete with flaw... boy did my aunts and uncles like the party favors I had!).

Slot 5 -- Strange Bedfellows: Ethereal Dreams

I got to play Leigh FTF! Whee!! I love my character Leigh, from SB, which is a PBEM. I was thrilled that [info]princejvstin decided to run a FTF session of the game. It takes place entirely in the dreamlands, which allowed him to pull PCs from wherever they were and also NPCs. I was not on team mayhem in this one, but still managed to end up in some as I stretched out a Logrus tendril and another player's character cut it off! Metaphysical OWIE!!! But I bonded with Brandeigh (as she helped heal the headache by giving me some mental energy back) and made some connections and got Valerian's Trump. So I'm happy. AND I got lots of practice with the Logrus which will serve me well in the upcoming Goldthing attack plotline as we return to email!

Slot 6 -- Equalizer 2: The Guns of Eregnor

Mayhem! And this time I didn't get hit by friendly fire, but instead by the mooks. And Gwen, um, shot someone by accident (she got in the way!). Unfortunately, Gwen was also just Too Pissed at the Count for having had her beaten to a pulp and then using her as a human shield in the last adventure to ignore the fact that he was trying to escape, so she expended quite a bit of energy on trying to kill him. If she's lucky, he exploded in the final fire (yay explosions!). She was banking on someone ELSE being the one most likely to be rescued. *fingers crossed*

My con ended there for gaming. The HoC gather was a good time (and fun ordering of food and using up blue coupons). I was sad to say goodbye to people that night and in the morning. *sighs* I am looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Oh, he's dead. No one could have survived that.
